Timeline

1987

Nicholas Mark Higgins was born at Miles Memorial Hospital in Damariscotta, Maine, on November 29th, 1987 to proud first-time parents Mark & Britt. Nick weighed 7 lbs 8.5 ozs.
Nick's first name came from a character on the TV show, "The Big Valley"----the ruggedly handsome cowboy, Nick Barkley. His middle name is his father's first name, Mark.

November 2006

In November 2006 Nick told us that he was going to be a father, that his girlfriend was expecting a baby in the summer. We all kind of chuckled at some of the unusual names he came up with for the child----"Priest" and "Xavier" being two of them.
In January 2007 Nicholas saw that he was going to have a son during an ultrasound exam at an OB appointment.
The precious baby was born on July 18th, 2007. We are sure Nick is watching over him from Heaven.

2007

Nick passed away on March 15th, 2007, in Benton, Maine, at the age of 19 years old. He was battling severe depression, and took his own life in an effort to stop his unrelenting emotional pain.
Nick leaves behind so many devastated family & friends.....including an infant son, his baby's mother, and three younger siblings---two of whom have forms of Autism.
